I recently discovered these boxes and how to make them. The designs are limited only by your imagination, and can be as small or large as you want. This particular one is made out of rosewood, has 2 compartments inside, and the grain is beautiful. I foresee a lot of these in my future projects.

bocote wine glass caddy

I came across some really nicely grained bocote wood. Bocote is a South American hardwood with a yellowish brown body and with a very distinct and figurative dark brown to blackish grain. It is somewhat expensive and hard to find. I made this wine glass caddy out of a piece of it and it turned out really nice. I put a very simple natural color Danish oil finish on it and topped it off with with a little poly. They make a very interesting conversation piece and a one of a kind gift for that wine enthusiast in your life. bloodwood wine glass caddy

This is Bloodwood, another one of my favorites. It is a South American hardwood with a natural red color to it. The one pictured is finished with a clear Danish oil. A very nice addition to your favorite wine display and a perfect Christmas gift. very classy looking.

lacewood wine glass caddy

Lacewood is a South American wood with a very conspicuous flecking which it gets it's name from. I finished the wine caddy with a basic Danish oil finish and a polyacrylic top coat. This seems to be a favorite amongst the ladies and they make great gifts for that wine lover in your life.

wooden wine glass caddy

Virginia has become one of the premiere wine destinations in the country now boasting in excess of 200 wineries.

This is a wine caddy made from purple heart wood. Purple heart is a South American hardwood with a purplish brown color. It is commonly used for inlay and fine furniture. I like to finish my wood with a basic Danish oil finish, especially on the exotic woods. This just brings out the natural colors and grains of the wood.

I will be posting more pictures of the wine caddies that  I make in the near future here, but for now, if you would like to see more examples of my work go to https://www.facebook.com/snowcreekcrafts and feel free to drop me a me line at either place. I am located in south central Virginia but shipping is available for a small fee.

Thanks for stopping by.
