I came across some really nicely grained bocote wood. Bocote is a South American hardwood with a yellowish brown body and with a very distinct and figurative dark brown to blackish grain. It is somewhat expensive and hard to find. I made this wine glass caddy out of a piece of it and it turned out really nice. I put a very simple natural color Danish oil finish on it and topped it off with with a little poly. They make a very interesting conversation piece and a one of a kind gift for that wine enthusiast in your life.
